December 2011
Season’s Greetings RMAFP members -
We have weathered our first few snows, celebrated a festive Thanksgiving and are in the full swing of the Rocky Mountain AFP 2011/2012 year! What a productive and fun year it has been so far ~
- Three successful luncheons to date – your Education Committee has worked very hard to provide you meaningful education topics such as Regulatory Reform in the Financial Industry, Public School Finance and Budgeting and a Municipal Markets Update.
None of this could be provided to you without the knowledge and professional presentation skills of such speakers as David Hart, CFO with Denver Public Schools, Mike Hagedorn, Vice Chair and CFO of UMB Financial Corporation and Chris Blackwood with PFM Asset Management, LLC.
We are excited about our dynamic line-up of event speakers and collaboration with two other trade organizations, Colorado CFA chapter and RIMS. Please visit http://www.rmafp.org/event_calendar.php?event=next to view the line-up and register for the events.
- A NEW venue for the 2012 RMAFP Summit Conference has been chosen – your Summit Committee has secured the Marriott Denver Tech Center property for the location of our upcoming annual conference, May 10th, 2012! This new location will allow us to widen our reach to our southerly-located membership (south Denver, Castle Rock, Colorado Springs)while still maintaining a fairly central location for the Denver-metro area members. Additionally, this venue will allow us to:
- Enjoy an excellent event in a remodeled space, all while staying within in our budget
- Keep the attendee price very affordable
- Added value of FREE parking!
Mark your calendars and invite every professional colleague you know. If you are a Service Provider member, please consider how you can support the RMAFP with sponsorship and exhibiting the day of the event!
- Our membership continues to be vibrant and engaged – with over 230 active members we continue to build a strong and vibrant membership, which contributes to our association through participation and volunteerism, inspiring each other as “thought” leaders and enriching our industry with tremendous expertise.
- Volunteers – this association is the amazing organization it is because of all the volunteerism we see from our membership! I want to acknowledge our core group of member volunteers that serve on various RMAFP committees with their time, talent, expertise and energy – you all ROCK in my book!!
Your Board is hard at work maintaining our association’s momentum for the year, executing strategic initiatives and planning for the future and next generation of Board members. We invite you to explore ways in which you can bring your energy, ideas and expertise to the RMAFP. If you have not done so already, please renew or enroll in this year’s membership at www.rmafp.org. As this year’s RMAFP President, it is my privilege to serve you. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me or any Board member with your questions or ideas to improve our premier Regional Association. We are here because of you and we are here to serve you!
Sincere Regards ~
Kari
